Concert, Beers & Entrepreneurs
It all began with a simple invitation to a D-A-D rock concert from one of our founders Miguel. He invited colleagues, friends and like-minded entrepreneurs to a thursday night out. The met up, the beer was cold, and the entrepreneur start-up mindset was at an all time high.
The Need For a Platform
The conversation over the cold beer was non stop, and Miguel who is working close with the lead singer of D-A-D (Jesper Binzer), explained that Jesper Binzer receives a lot of requests from fans and relatives who wants to buy a personal video greeting. Of course Jesper Binzer wanted to accommodate his fans with their needs, but how? Jesper was in need of a efficient, systematized and easy way to meet his fans needs without to0 much inconvenience.
A Weekend in the Garage
Before the concert started our two main geeks discussed the possibility to create a system with the skills they possessed, that could meet the demands. After the concert the weekend came, and the ideas about the system came as well. The two geeks cleared the calendar and buckled down for the weekend, with the intention of creating a brand and interface for fans, where celebrities could offer personal video greetings. The name VIFT was born.
The hard work from the weekend was presented for the group from the concert. It became clear for the others how to build a system that would accommodate the needs from fans and celebrities. They discussed all the possible perspectives in the concept and compared it with the skills within the team. It was clear for everyone that the project to create the ultimate fan service was now in motion.
The Talent Web App
One of the essential parts of the development was how the talents receives and keeps track of bookings. Furthermore we wanted the possibility for the talents to attach a video to a booking, that could trigger a chain reaction within the system, which in the end should result in a unique video experience - delivered directly to the fan. The development of the talent app was kick started the following weekend in the garage. To keep it simple and resource efficient, the app was developed as a simple web app that targets all smartphones and mobile devices, while looking like a normal app.
We didn't want the concept to run out of hand when we launched. Therefore a soft launch was agreed upon, with a few proactive talents who was on board VIFT from the start. These talents was given exclusive opportunities to advertise the VIFT service to their fans. In the meantime our talent agents are creating a even stronger VIFT team, with new talents from all possible categories - so stay tuned.
